ETHICS & VALUES
Our Values & Transparency
The Other Voice exists to support late-discovered neurodivergent adults - especially autistic adults - through education, reflection, and access to thoughtfully chosen resources.
We believe clarity and transparency matter, particularly in spaces where people are often overwhelmed, newly diagnosed, or navigating burnout.
Educational Content vs Therapy
The Other Voice offers psychoeducational content and resources intended to support understanding, self-reflection, and informed decision-making.
This content is not therapy and does not replace working with a licensed mental health professional.
Clinical therapy services are offered separately by a licensed counselor and are clearly identified on this website. Any therapy services, consultations, scheduling, and clinical care are handled through the counselor's secure clinical platform and governed by professional, legal, and ethical standards.
Accessing Therapy Services
For individuals interested in therapy, the Contact page provides:
-
Information about therapeutic approaches and modalities
-
What to expect from the therapy process
-
Options to request a brief consultation
-
Secure links to the counselor's clinical scheduling platform
Engaging with educational content on The Other Voice does not establish a therapeutic relationship.
About Recommendations & Affiliate Links

Our approach to recommendations is guided by the following commitments:
-
Resources are selected based on perceived usefulness and alignment with our values
-
We prioritize work created by neurodivergent individuals
-
We do not promote products or services that frame autism as something to be cured or corrected

We do not accept payment in exchange for endorsements or positive reviews
You are never obligated to purchase any resource shared here.
Ethical Commitments
We are committed to:
-
Respecting neurodivergence as a valid and natural neurotype
-
Avoiding deficit-based, pathologizing, or fear-driven narratives
-
Honoring autonomy, consent, and individual pacing
-
Reducing harm and pressure in wellness and mental health spaces
We intentionally avoid:
-
Urgency-based marketing
-
Promises of transformation or cure
-
One-size-fits-all solutions
Accessibility & Ongoing Care
We recognize that neurodivergent needs vary and that burnout, sensory overload, and cognitive fatigue are real.
We aim to:
-
Use clear, direct language
-
Avoid unnecessary complexity
-
Offer resources that can be engaged with flexibly
This is an ongoing effort, not a finished state.
